Eye Examinations
We recommend that you book an eye examination once every two years if you are older than 45 or have vision abnormalities. Eye examinations include glaucoma testing.
Immunisation
Our immunisation services are available for people looking to vaccinate themselves against the flu and a range of other diseases.
Bone Density
We perform bone density tests in postmenopausal women with fractures. If you are a woman and under the age of 65, we can check your bone density for signs of osteoporosis.
A physical examination involves a detailed look at your height, weight and body mass index (BMI). In general, we recommend men and women over 40 years of age undergo a physical examination at least once every three years.
A physical examination will also include a blood pressure check. If you have a history of borderline or high blood pressure, you should be having this checked at least once per year. If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease or any other related conditions, we recommend having your blood pressure checked regularly.
As a preventive health-focused practice, our top priority is to help you maintain good health and pick up on any problems before you begin showing symptoms. Making regular health and wellness check-ups is essential for everyone, regardless of your age, gender, or medical history.

Diabetes screenings are essential to undergo every three years once you are over the age of 40. Outside of this age bracket, your healthcare provider may recommend you book a diabetes screening if you are a woman with blood pressure above 135/80. During this screening, we will test your blood sugar levels for evidence of the disease.
You are at an increased risk of type 2 diabetes if you are overweight, over the age of 45 and have high blood pressure. People of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent are also more likely to develop this condition.

When you book a skin check with Eli Waters Medical Centre, we conduct a thorough examination of your skin and address any concerns or problem areas you may have. Concerns could include issues such as itchy spots, bites, stings, chickenpox, shingles, ringworm, burns and blisters. These are considered urgent issues and should be examined by a medical professional as soon as possible.
Regular skin checks are also available at our practices. We have a designated skin clinic where patients can be screened for skin cancer and have suspicious moles or lesions examined. Our doctors can also address any concerns you may have about skin care, acne, allergies, rashes, athlete’s foot and fungal infections.
