About Our Team

Dr Adu, Practice Principal, is a fellow of the RACGP with many years of experience in General Practice. She believes in putting excellence into family practice and has a particular interest in women’s and children’s health, preventive medicine, sexual and mental health and chronic disease management.

Dr Ibe, as she is fondly known, joined our team in January 2017. Her interests lie in management of Chronic Diseases, Preventive Medicine, Women’s Health, Endocrinology and CardioRespiratory medicine. She likes Hervey Bay Airport and Burrum Heads because of the peace and serenity of the beaches and the semi metropolitan nature of Hervey Bay Airport. Dr Ibe enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing on her days off.

Dr Oxana Agareva has been dedicated to the practice of medicine for over 25 years, guided by a deep commitment to patient care and community well-being. A graduate of the Volgograd Medical Academy in Russia, she embarked on her journey in the Australian Medical system in 2007, building a wealth of experience in public and private hospitals as well as General Practice. In 2017, Dr Oxana chose to make Hervey Bay her home, where she found immense joy in becoming part of an amazing, warm and welcoming community and caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds.

 

Dr Oxana’s approach to medicine is defined by compassion and a genuine passion for making a difference. She believes in treating each patient as an individual, listening carefully and providing care that reflects their unique needs. While she enjoys all aspects of general practice, her special interests include mental health, women’s and men’s health, family planning and antenatal care, paediatrics, and chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart and lung disease. Promoting a healthy lifestyle is at the core of her practice, as she strives to empower her patients to take an active role in their well-being.

Dr Oxana is proud to practice at Eli Waters Medical Centre, where she and her colleagues are dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive family health care.

Dr Dede is a visiting Consultant Paediatrician. Accepting all new patients. Referral from your local GP is required. Dr Dede visits approximately every 2 months. Fees do apply, so please speak with reception to be advised of the costs.

Dr Ludwig completed her medical degree at James Cook University in 2008. She then spent the next 2 years working at the Townsville Hospital gaining general medical experience. Her passion for Women’s health drove her to complete the Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2010. The following year Dr Ludwig relocated to South-East Queensland to work at the Royal Children’s Hospital. As her interest in paediatrics increased, she enrolled in the Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Children’s Hospital, which she completed in 2011. While training in General Practice, Dr Ludwig completed the Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health through Family Planning Australia.

Dr Ludwig enjoys the lifelong learning that comes with General Practice and the spectrum of conditions that walk through the door and aims to work together with her patients in a caring way to enable them to achieve optimal health. With the epidemic of chronic disease in the community, Jenny is passionate about assisting her patients with lifestyle modification to prevent or better manage their medical condition.

Special Interests: Women’s health, Antenatal/Postnatal care, Contraception, Sexual Health & Family Planning, Child Health/Paediatrics, Mental Health, Travel Health, Lifestyle modification in the management of chronic diseases.

Adedoyin is the Practice Manager of Eli Waters, Burrum Heads and Airport Doctor Surgery. She has a degree in Business Administration, BSC Nursing, PostGraduate Diploma in cosmetic Nursing and is a PSR Provider. Adedoyin has always had a strong passion for enhancing people’s well-being and aging. Her interests lie in General Practice nursing as well as Cosmetic Medicine. Ade has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Management, Primary Health and Cosmetic Nursing.

Karen qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1985 after completing training at Westmead Hospital in Sydney after working in the various wards. Later she went on to complete post graduate study at University to obtain qualifications in ‘Child and Family Health’. She finally found her niche in Nursing 16 years ago working as a Practice Nurse in a Medical Centre where she learnt new skills and worked as a valuable member of a team of Doctors and other nurses providing Primary Health Care. Karen moved to Hervey Bay Airport in 2005 and have worked at this practice ever since! She is passionate about supporting people who have a chronic disease and helping them to improve their health and make better lifestyle choices. She loves that she get to work with babies and children as well as the very old and frail members of our community. She also enjoys her role as a mentor to nursing students from the University who come here on a clinical placement to learn about nursing in a community setting.

Jane joined our team in 2019, bringing with her a great passion for the nursing profession and the diverse pursuits her career offers. Her career in the health sector began in 2011, moving to registered nurse in 2015. Jane’s particular passions in nursing are women’s health and holistic care, which fuel her further studies across a broad range of topics. Jane is a registered pap smear provider and the only RN on our team able to assist our GPs with iron infusions. Outside of the practices, Jane immerses herself in her family, adventurous cooking, faith-focused activities, movies and reading.

Dr Theophilus Akinola graduated from the medical school in 2013. He also studied master’s in public health and Business Administration.

He has previously worked and gained much experience in General medicine and Emergency working at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Geraldton Regional Hospital WA, and the Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency department.

He has broad-ranging interests in medicine, including in paediatrics, general and emergency medicine. His interests cover all areas of General Practice, minor procedures, health of older people and preventive medicine. He enjoys learning new skills and seeks every opportunity to learn more.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his young family.

Dr Olivia Osmer, a 2002 graduate of a medical school in Russia, has garnered extensive expertise in General Medicine, Women’s Health and Paediatrics over the course of her career. After gaining valuable experience at Hervey Bay Hospital, she transitioned to Eli Waters Medical Centre and Airport Doctor Surgery. 

Dr. Olivia specialises in a patient-centred approach to health, combining evidence-based medicine with a focus on natural and holistic care. Her areas of expertise include:

• Weight Management: Customised plans to support weight loss, nutritional guidance, and overall wellness.
  
• Menopause and Perimenopause Care: Comprehensive support for hormonal transitions, including hormone replacement therapies and symptom management.
• Contraception and Family Planning: Skilled in all contraceptive options, including Mirena IUD and Implanon insertions, offering personalised options for each patient’s unique needs.
• Skin Cancer Services: Expertise in thorough skin cancer screenings, with both surgical and non-surgical treatment options available.
• Natural and Lifestyle-Based Medicine: Emphasis on natural health approaches, incorporating lifestyle modifications and careful deprescribing of medications when beneficial.
• Cannabis Therapy for Chronic Conditions: Exploring the latest in natural cannabis treatments to help manage chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia.

Beyond her medical commitments, she treasures time with her husband, two boys, and beloved dog. Out door activities such as camping, hiking and biking are her preferred ways to maintain a well-rounded and active lifestyle.

Dr Solmaz Sakipoor is a General Practitioner with seven years of experience since graduating from medical school. She has a background in general practice in Iran and has been working at Hervey Bay Hospital for couple of years. Dr. Solmaz is dedicated to enhancing the health of the Bay community, showing a particular interest in Emergencies, paediatrics, mental well-being, geriatric care, and chronic conditions. Dr. Solmaz stands out for her comprehensive and personalised healthcare solutions, making her a trusted partner in the community’s health journey

MBBS

Dr Thet obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine, Yangon, in 2014 and worked as a GP and medical officer for 8 years before relocating to Australia. Dr Thet continued his to practice for the next 2 and a half years, gaining valuable experience, at Hervey Bay Hospital.

Dr Thet has a friendly, accepting and non-judgmental approach with patients. He enjoys all aspects of GP practice and has particular interests in acute and chronic diseases including: diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases, acute injuries, aged care, cancer care, minor skin procedures, paediatrics, mental health, women’s health, sexual health and travel health. He has worked in a variety of fields including Medicine, Surgery, Emergency, Orthopaedics, Cancer Care, Geriatric Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr Thet particularly enjoys being involved in the continuing care of patient and their families and significant others. He feels privileged and rewarded that General Practice offers the opportunity to assist people over the long term within a variety of circumstances.

During his free time, Dr Thet loves playing soccer, gym workouts, singing and playing guitar.

MBBS

Dr Kyaw Win Tun completed his MBBS studies in Myanmar. He gained much experience in General Practice, General medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency medicine and Psychiatry in Myanmar, Taiwan and Australia. He has special interest in research, skin diseases, acute and chronic disease management, women’s health and aboriginal health. Dr Tun is fluent in three languages including English, Burmese and Chinese. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as going to the gym, listening to music, meditating, and traveling.

Excel is a physiotherapist who joined our team this August, 2025. She has 5 years experience and her interest lies in Musculoskeletal and Sports injuries. She will provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan to assist in your recovery. She is able to assist with workcover injuries and GPMCP appointments. Her favourite thing to do is to learn about different cultures and she loves to spend some of her evenings walking along the beach in Herveybay.
